After the cycle dedicated to Cecilia Barriga, on June 26 the new exhibition of Contemporary Visions – Latest trends in film and video in Spain – is inaugurated, a project curated by Playtime Audiovisuales (Natalia Piñuel Martín and Enrique Piñuel Martín), with the work of the filmmaker and cultural researcher Gala Hernández López.
In his work, Hernández López explores how, in the current moment, digital capitalism builds us as subjects, examining the imaginaries and narratives that circulate within virtual communities.
His work is materialized in film essays, based on research in which he dissects human desires for techno-scientific control over reality, approached from materialist analysis with a critical and poetic approach.
Gala Hernández López (Murcia, 1993) graduated in Cinematography from ESCAC (Barcelona). Master in Contemporary Film and Audiovisual Studies from Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona) and Master in Audiovisual and Cinema Studies (IMACS) from Sorbonne University New-Paris 3 and University of Paris X Nanterre de La Défense.
