Discover one of the most peculiar and unknown monuments of 18th century Salamanca. Forming part of the structures attached to the Convent of Carmen Calzado de San Andrés, known as the ‘Escorial salmantino’ for its large dimensions and arduous architectural style, we find the Well of Snow, an amazing construction in which our ancestors stored and preserved the snow they brought on mules from the mountains of France and Béjar to turn it into ice, which they then took advantage of to make ice cream or sorbets, as a preservative or for therapeutic purposes.
