The oldest surviving documentation of the Royal Convent of Santa Clara de Salamanca dates from 1238. A few years later, between 1245 and 1250, his church was consecrated. The rest of the dependencies would be finished in successive decades.

The Museums Las Úrsulas and Las Claras of Salamanca, are the testimony through art of the presence of the Community of Santa Clara in the province.


The Monastery of the Annunciation, popularly known as ‘las Úrsulas’, is one of the most interesting religious sites in the city of Salamanca, and has been a National Historical Monument since 1931.
