This one that you have in your hands, reader, is the first title of a collection that aims to honor the traditional Salamancan trade. Each of the numbers that form it will be monographic about a specific business and will have been chosen, among other reasons, to illustrate the history of our city or province. This is not, in any case, a closed collection. The number of titles will depend to a large extent on the popular acceptance of this project and the interest of those who want to be reflected in it. The collection will thus be open to all those businesses that emerged in this city or province prior to 1950 and its commercial trajectory has been, in the opinion of the Museum, representative of the mercantile history of Salamanca. The Calón Bookstore-Paperstore has closed its doors definitively a few weeks ago after more than one hundred and thirty years of commercial adventure.
