The history of the Bomati family in our city begins in the mid-19th century. Since then and until the Civil War its members were active citizens of this small provincial capital that, at the beginning of the last century, barely exceeded twenty-five thousand inhabitants. In its beginnings the name of Bomati was linked to the world of the construction of horse-drawn carriages, a business that experienced a revolution with the arrival of the automobile and that placed the old workshops between the disappearance or its total reform. Very few people in the city remember this surname, so the writing of this Notebook of the Museum of Commerce has been especially complicated.
