DON FRANCISCO NÚÑEZ IZQUIERDO AND THE PRINTING AND LIBRARY OF NÚÑEZ
The Printing and Bookshop of Núñez, opened in 1900, is preserved until March 14, 2007, when it is closed for reasons beyond the control of its owners. Refounded repeatedly on a Libreco business in force at least since the eighteenth century, in its last stretch of life, which corresponds to the ownership of the Núñez family, supposes a succession of five generations at the head of the same business. Its history begins with Don Francisco Núñez Izquierdo, one of the great promoters of the province at the beginning of modernity, whom perhaps Salamanca has forgotten in his tributes. Linked to the newspaper El Adelanto, the oldest of those that remain in the city and to the aforementioned bookstore, his successors also had their commercial and social prominence for a hundred years. 27,5x15cm, 2,5€
