LUIS MÉNDEZ ARTESANOS. A LOOK AT THE WORLD OF THE FILIGRAN CHARRA
The eleventh Journal of History of Commerce and Industry of Salamanca focuses on a company dedicated to jewelry and filigree work, with such a long tradition in our province. Luis Méndez Artesanos, the current name of the commercial firm that occupies the publication, has its roots in the Sierra Salmantina, specifically in Tamames. Through its long craftsmanship, and based on traditional motifs, this family business has developed a personal jewelry that has been recognized with multiple awards in national and international exhibitions. The text has been prepared by Dr. Rosalba Francisca Ponce Riveros, who has researched deeply on various topics of Salamancan ethnography, including filigree. That is why the discourse will bring us closer to the subject from an anthropological and not merely historical perspective. The Museum of Commerce has edited 500 copies of this notebook that are sold at the symbolic price of one euro in the Museum in the Tourist Office of the Plaza Mayor and in some bookstores in the city. 27,5x15cm, 2,5
