THREE ANCIENT COFFEES. SALAMANCA AT THE BEGINNING OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY

The Museum of Commerce decided to dedicate 2014 to the hotel industry of the city, a strategic business branch in the Salamanca economy closely related to tourism. This new booklet from the collection on the history of trade and industry serves as a culmination to the activities focused on this topic. Starting from the idea that we wanted to talk about the coffees of the early twentieth century, the main difficulty has been to locate enough graphic and written documentation on the subject. Be a sample of those old cafes, where part of the daily leisure of that time was spent, the three that are presented here: The Pearl, the Swiss and the Four Seasons. This booklet has been written by José María Hernández Pérez, who had already collaborated in this collection with the text dedicated to the businesses of the Centenera family. Undoubtedly this new contribution to the history of the Salamancan trade will have the same success as that delivery. 27,5x15cm, 2,5€
