CERRO DE SAN VICENTE

The protohistoric town of San Vicente was discovered in 1949 following the construction of the university college of the Pontifical University of Salamanca, Na Sra. de Guadalupe, recently demolished.
Archaeological research has been carried out since 1990, at the request of the Ministry of Culture of the Junta de Castilla y León and the City Council of Salamanca, leading to the approval of the Special Plan of Cerro de San Vicente in 1997, whose development has allowed the recovery of the historic urban layout and the acquisition for the public domain of most of the plots affected by the most relevant archaeological remains, guaranteeing their protection and public enjoyment.
