Salamanca's Barrio del Oeste neighborhood has been transformed into a genuine open-air museum, thanks to the initiative of the Zoes neighborhood association.
THE BARRIO DEL OESTE URBAN GALLERY.
Over the years, they have spearheaded an urban art project that has filled the neighborhood's facades, shutters, and corners with impressive works of art, transforming its streets into a vibrant gallery.
The guided tour of this space invites you on a walking tour to discover the art hidden around every corner. It's not just about seeing murals, but about understanding the history and philosophy behind the project.
What will you find?
Street Art: Large-format murals, graffiti with messages, artistic installations, and sculptures created by local, national, and international artists.
Neighborhood Stories: Your guide will tell you how the initiative originated from the neighborhood itself and how art has served to revitalize the area, foster coexistence, and attract new visitors.
Diversity of Styles: You'll be able to appreciate a wide variety of artistic techniques and styles, from detailed realism to abstract art and pure graffiti.
This walk is a fantastic way to see a lesser-known, modern, and creativity-filled side of Salamanca. It's a demonstration of how art can transform an urban space and bring a community to life.
