SALAMANCA: GOOD ENOUGH TO EAT

Salamanca stands out as one of the leading gastronomic destinations. With two Michelin stars, the city has steadily grown in reputation and appeal for locals and visitors, offering them a unique culinary journey.

Salamanca boasts products of extraordinary quality, a result of its diverse and spectacular "gastronomic landscapes." Dehesas, lentil and chickpea fields, 'arribes' (river gorges), and mountain ranges provide ideal microclimates for citrus fruits, almonds, olive trees, etc.

These landscapes are home to two wine routes and two distinct appellations (Sierra de Salamanca and Arribes), featuring wines (including "añejos" or aged wines) that one must "learn" to appreciate but which truly stand out; alongside flavorful meats and agro-food industries committed to quality.

And an undeniable star, the Iberian pig. The International Iberian Pork Forum has already become one of the premier gastronomic events.
The City Council's commitment to gastronomy and dining in the city spans more than a decade, offering a destination that perfectly blends tradition and avant-garde. Under the brand "Salamanca para Comérsela," it has given a significant boost to the restaurant sector. Its dedication to local produce is undeniable.
