Shopping

Shopping in Salamanca means taking a piece of the city with you. You can find everything in the more than 4,000 establishments scattered throughout the capital of the Tormes: clothing, footwear, accessories, jewelry, souvenirs, gastronomy, and local crafts.
The main shopping area is located on the streets leading north from Plaza Mayor. In the vicinity of Toro and Zamora streets, you'll find franchises, designer stores, and small independent shops, all within your reach, allowing you to shop while strolling peacefully through pedestrian streets with golden stone buildings. It's a pleasant walk where you might encounter a street musician, and, if your visit coincides, also a book fair in Plaza Mayor, or a craft and pottery fair in Plaza de los Bandos.
Built upon the site of an old 18th-century Baroque convent, we will visit a spectacular space: a contemporary steel and glass building with a 22-meter high dome. Inside, you'll find a Zara store, a unique place highly recommended for enjoying shopping and art.
The city's neighborhoods offer a great opportunity to get a feel for local commerce.
In the area located between the Plaza and the Cathedrals, towards the river, you'll find souvenir shops and a multitude of traditional 'charra' craft stores, ranging from jewelers to leather goods shops. There are also gourmet shops where you can buy cured meats and hams with Guijuelo Designation of Origin. These and other products from the province can be found in the Central Market, a beautiful modernist building bustling with activity throughout the morning.
Keep an eye out, because during your visit, you'll also discover some old shops with centuries-old shop windows, such as Pastelería La Madrileña or Farmacia Urbina.
The Tourist Shop is located in Plaza Mayor, under the City Hall arch, where you'll find beautiful souvenirs of the city https://www.latiendadeturismodesalamanca.es/es
Shopping centers are also an option: El Tormes and Capuchinos in Santa Marta de Tormes, or Vialia on Paseo de la Estación, where, in addition to shopping, you can enjoy your leisure time in their cafes, restaurants, and cinemas.
