Legion 501 (2019)

Spanish Garrison

The 501st Legion is an association of Star Wars enthusiasts founded in 1997 in the USA by Albin Johnson and Tom Crews to accurately recreate the characters from the saga created by George Lucas. Over time, they began to dedicate their events to charitable causes, as well as making visits to hospitals, generally focused on the youngest. Currently, there are already more than 13,500 members worldwide. They arrived in Spain in 2004 and, since then, the now more than 700 volunteers carry out charitable events and parades throughout the country.

Their costumes, faithful replicas of the attire seen in the Star Wars films, represent all the characters from “the dark side” of the saga, the “bad guys,” as their motto says, they are “bad guys doing good things”.

The filming aimed to promote the parade held in Salamanca on October 5th, in which more than 800 members of the 501st Legion Spanish Garrison participated.
