La Reina de las Nieves: Life and Words of Carmen Martín Gaite

Mariela Artiles, a Salamanca-native and director of the documentary La Reina de las Nieves. Luces y letras en la vida salmantina de Carmen Martín Gaite, will begin filming next week. The documentary features Chema de la Peña's experience in executive production.

On Friday, December 13, part of this feature film, which narrates the life of the writer, will be shot in the city. Carmen Martín Gaite spent her childhood and youth in Salamanca, so the filming will have a distinctive Salamanca atmosphere, featuring locations such as the Casino, Plaza Mayor, Café Novelty, Parroquia del Carmen (Carmen Parish Church), Plaza de los Bandos, and Casa de María la Brava, among other places significant to the writer's life.

Furthermore, the project includes numerous testimonies from Salamanca-native personalities and experts on the writer, such as Alberto Estella, president of the Casino, and actress Charo Lopez.
