Convent of the Annunciation. Las Úrsulas

The Convent of the Annunciation, better known as Las Úrsulas, is a Franciscan convent for women located in the city of Salamanca, on Paseo de las Úrsulas. A small but interesting museum is situated in the lower choir of the church.
It was founded in the 16th century by Archbishop Alonso de Fonseca.

The church is Gothic in style with a nave covered by stellar ribbed vaults and a polygonal apse.

Inside, important examples of religious art are preserved, notably the marble tomb-shaped sepulchre of Don Alonso de Fonseca, carved by Diego de Siloé.

On the Gospel side wall is the tomb of the archbishop's majordomo, Don Francisco Rivas.
