A square where several significant tourist attractions converge, bearing historical value from the city's War of the Factions.
Plaza de los Bandos is located in the historic center of Salamanca, just a few meters from Plaza Mayor.
Its name is linked to events that took place over many years in the 15th century, during which noble families vied for the right to govern the city, a conflict eventually pacified by San Juan de Sahagún. This conflict is known as the War of the Factions.
On the first floor of number 3 Plaza de los Bandos, in a building now demolished, the writer Carmen Martín Gaite was born on December 8, 1925.[1]
