THE LENTEN WOMAN 2017

The calendar was hung in shops and homes to count the passage of the seven weeks of Lent, a period of fasting and abstinence from meat that precedes Holy Week.

The image has been created by the designer Bárbara Bejarano.

The figure of the old woman with seven legs and the foods typical of the religious vigil period, vegetables and fish, was usually produced in cardboard or wood.
