Conference Series: "Museums for Castilla y León: Current Issues and Perspectives"
In collaboration with the Master's Program in Cultural Heritage Evaluation and Management (University of Salamanca).
The series began on Wednesday, October 27, with a presentation titled "Museums, the Portrait of Dorian Gray. The Case of Castilla y León," delivered by Luis Grau Lobo, director of the Museo de León. On Thursday, October 28, José Luis Hoyas Díez, Head of the Museum Service at the Junta de Castilla y León, discussed "Museums of Castilla y León: Changes Ahead." Friday, October 29, featured Alberto Bescós Corral, director of the Museo de Salamanca, who addressed the "Crisis of the Encyclopedic Museum."
On November 2, the speaker was Alicia Villar Pérez, Senior Technician at the Junta de Castilla y León, who explored "Museums, Culture, and Tourism." Lastly, on November 3, Oliva Cachafeiro Bernal, director of the Museo de Arte Africano Arellano Alonso at the University of Valladolid, spoke about "Museums and New Sensibilities: Social Museums."
