Fashion Culture. Serrano Embroidery Craftsmanship

On May 18th, International Museum Day, a new temporary exhibition was inaugurated. Titled "Cultura de moda. Artesanía de bordado serrano," it showcases examples of provincial craftsmanship, all sharing the common thread of the typical iconographic motifs found in the popular embroidery from the Sierra de Francia.

Clay, wood, metal, glass, plastic… these are the materials on which each artisan has incorporated these motifs with the intention of creating a distinctive identity for the products of that area.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Ana Suárez, Deputy Mayor of Salamanca City Council. Also present were Fernando Castaño, Councillor for Tourism, and Francisco Javier García and David Mingo, Deputies for Tourism and Culture from the Salamanca Provincial Council, along with Manuel Arias, president of Adriss.

The exhibition will be open to visitors until July 3rd.
