COLORED PHOTOGRAPHY BY VENANCIO GOMBAU. EARLY 20TH CENTURY
Created by the photographer from Salamanca, Venancio Gombau (1861-1929). Early 20th century. Measures 42 x 30cm. Period photograph and wooden frame. Piece acquired by the Museum of Commerce and Industry of Salamanca in 2025. Exhibited in the photographic studios room. The lady appears elegantly dressed with a mantilla and fan. In addition to the backdrops, the lighting, the sweetness of the portrayed woman, etc., it is worth noting that the photographic retouching was done by Venancio's wife, Francisca Guerra, a photographer, painter, and one of the best retouchers of her time. Francisca continued to improve the photographs of her children, Amalio and Guzmán, who continued the business, until her death in 1939.
