DON FRANCISCO NÚÑEZ IZQUIERDO AND THE NÚÑEZ PRINTING HOUSE AND BOOKSTORE
Núñez Printing Press and Bookstore, opened in 1900, maintained its activity until 2007, when it closed due to reasons beyond the owners' control. It has been repeatedly refounded on a bookselling business active at least since the 18th century. The Núñez family's ownership represents a succession of five generations at the helm of the same business. Its history begins with don Francisco Núñez Izquierdo, one of the great promoters of the province in the early days of modernity, whom Salamanca has perhaps forgotten in its tributes. Linked to the newspaper El Adelanto, his successors also played a commercial and social role for one hundred years. The Notebooks are sold for 2.5 euros at the Tourism store in the Plaza Mayor, and the Commerce Museum itself.
