Calón Bookstore and Stationery
This is the first title in a collection that aims to honor traditional commerce in Salamanca. Each of the issues that form it will be monographic about a specific business and will have been chosen, among other reasons, for illustrating the history of our city or province. The number of titles will largely depend on the popular acceptance of this project and the interest of those who wish to be reflected in it. The collection will be open to all businesses that originated in this city or province before 1950 and whose commercial trajectory has been, in the opinion of the Museum, representative of the mercantile history of Salamanca. Calón Bookstore & Stationery has definitively closed its doors after more than one hundred and thirty years of commercial adventure. Its connection with the city's culture, as reflected throughout the following pages, will undoubtedly be a surprise for many people from Salamanca. The notebooks are sold for €2.5 at the Plaza Mayor Tourism shop as well as at the Museum of Commerce itself.
