CONFECTIONERY LA MADRILEÑA. Number 4, Plaza Mayor

The commercial history of La Madrileña confectionery begins on Zamora street, although, before the turn of the 20th century, it was already open to the public in Salamanca's Plaza Mayor. It has remained in the same location to this day, without this sweet centenary business showing signs of fatigue.

Its fame has a tourist dimension, because, from its central location, it introduces typical local products, such as that very Salamancan candy we call 'chocho'. Its origin and its vicissitudes throughout all this time have been written, in this new installment of the Museum of Commerce, by Tomás Rivas Verdú.

For sale at the Museum of Commerce, the Plaza Mayor Tourism shop, and some bookstores. Since the museum is non-profit, the sale price is 2.5 euros.
