LA MALLORQUINA. BERMEJO CONFECTIONERIES. A SWEET COMPETITION
There was a time when a pastry shop called La Mallorquina opened to the public in all cities of Spain. La Mallorquina of Salamanca was founded by Don Santiago Bermejo Pollo at the beginning of the 20th century. Bermejo Pollo had a street named after him until the sixties, where he built his candy factory and a neighborhood for humble people. For the writing of this Museum of Commerce Notebook, we have relied on the direct testimony of his grandson Santiago Bermejo Escribano, as much a protagonist as the grandfather, and who managed the businesses he started until their definitive closure in the eighties of the last century. The notebooks are sold at a price of 2.5€ at the Tourism office in the Plaza Mayor and the Museum of Commerce itself.
